Car registration in Romania is a mandatory process for every vehicle owner. The vehicle needs to be registered with the local authorities in order to legally operate it on public roads.

Who needs it?

Anyone who owns a motor vehicle (car, motorcycle, truck etc.) and plans to operate it on public roads in Romania is required to register the vehicle.

Procedure

  1. Visit the nearest Registry of Driver’s Licenses and Car Registration (RCLCR).
  2. Submit required documents such as proof of ownership, identification document, proof of technical inspection and insurance.
  3. Pay the registration fee.
  4. Obtain the registration certificate and license plates.

Additional details
