A Romanian Identity Card is a document issued to Romanian citizens, proving identity, address, and, in some cases, citizenship.

Procedure

1. Go to the local Public Community Service for the Population (SPCP)
2. Submit the required documents
3. Complete an application form
4. Pay the processing fee
5. Pick up the identity card when it’s ready

Required Documents

• Birth certificate: Original and copy
• Proof of residence: A document stating your current address
• Old identity card: If you’re renewing or replacing an old one
• Marriage certificate: In case of name change due to marriage
• Document proving lawful status for foreign citizens
• 1 color photograph, according to official requirements
