SEPE is the Public Service of State Employment in Spain. It is responsible for the management and control of various unemployment benefits. Making an appointment with them is essential for anyone who needs to clarify issues regarding their unemployment situation or benefits.

Who needs it?

Anyone who has been fired, or who is jobless and needs consultation on their benefits and the aids they can get from the Spanish government might need an appointment with SEPE.

Procedure

  1. Visit the SEPE official website: https://www.sepe.es/

  2. Click on the ‘Electronic Office’ or ‘Oficina Electronica’ option.

  3. Choose the ‘Procedures and services’ or ‘Procedimientos y Servicios’ option.

  4. Scroll the list until the ‘Request for an appointment’ or ‘Pedir cita’ option is found and click on it.

  5. It will request your identification, enter your information.

  6. Choose the office nearest to your location and book your desired slot for the appointment.

Required Documents

  1. NIE (Foreigner’s Identity Number): Provided by the Spanish government upon your arrival in Spain.

  2. Social Security information: This would have been provided by your employer if you were previously employed.

  3. IDE (Identity Document): This could be your passport.
